Frequently asked questions

How much should I charge for a floor plan?

Most US real estate photographers charge $40–$150 for a 2D schematic floor plan, depending on property size and whether it's measured to a standard like ANSI or BOMA. A common structure is a per-square-foot rate ($0.02–$0.04) plus a small per-floor fee, with a minimum around $49. Measured, certified plans (iGUIDE-style) command the higher end.

Should floor plans be priced separately or bundled with the tour?

Both work. Bundling a floor plan into a mid-tier package ('Photos + 3D tour + floor plan') is the easiest upsell and what most agents expect. Pricing it à la carte makes sense for clients who only want the plan. Many photographers do both: bundled in packages, available standalone at a slightly higher rate.

What's the difference between a schematic and a measured floor plan?

A schematic floor plan shows room layout and approximate proportions — fine for marketing. A measured floor plan carries certified dimensions and square footage (often to ANSI Z765 or BOMA standards) that agents and appraisers can rely on. Measured plans take more care to produce and justify a higher price.
